The silver things on the sides of the wings are counterbalancers.  I had to melt down fishing weights into a mold that I made.  The wings are perfectly balance (like your car wheels) in order to put minimal stress on the servos.  The eye's move with each wing and the wings can be programmed to move independently.  The hour hand moves independently, too.
